    Getting Around Koh Chang

A single road runs around most of the island. Shared songthaews (pickup taxis) link the ferry piers with the west-coast beaches, and scooters are widely available — but the hills between beaches are steep, so only ride if you're experienced. For transport from the capital, see our Bangkok to Koh Chang guide.

    Best Time to Visit

November to April is the dry season with calm seas and sunny days. Koh Chang gets heavy rain from roughly June to October — waterfalls are at their best, but some boat trips stop running.

    Getting There

Koh Chang has no airport. Take a bus or minivan from Bangkok to the Trat ferry piers (5–7 hours total), or fly to Trat (TDX), then cross on a 30–45 minute car ferry.
