Visa-Free Entry (60 Days)

As of 2026, citizens of 93 countries can enter Thailand without a visa and stay for up to 60 days. This includes all EU and EEA member states, the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. You simply need a passport valid for at least 6 months and proof of onward travel.

30-Day Extension

You can extend your visa-free stay by 30 extra days at any Immigration Office in Thailand for ฿1,900. The most popular offices are at Chaeng Watthana Government Complex in Bangkok, Promenada Mall in Chiang Mai, and Phuket Town Immigration. Arrive early in the morning as queues can be long, and bring a passport photo, copies of your passport, and the TM.30 form from your hotel.

Tourist Visa (TR) — 60 Days

If you want 60 days guaranteed before arrival with the option to extend another 30 days in-country, apply for a Tourist Visa at a Thai embassy or consulate. The cost is approximately $40–60 depending on your country, with processing taking 3–5 business days. You'll need your passport, a photo, flight itinerary, hotel booking, and a recent bank statement.

Special Tourist Visa (STV) — 90 Days

Designed for long-stay tourists, the STV allows an initial 90-day stay that can be extended twice, giving you up to 270 days total in Thailand.

Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa — 10 Years

Thailand's premium visa programme targets four groups: wealthy global citizens with at least $1 million in assets, digital nomads earning $80,000 or more per year, retirees with equivalent pension or investment income, and highly skilled professionals. Benefits include a 10-year stay, an included work permit, reduced income tax rates, and fast-track airport immigration lanes.

Visa on Arrival (VOA) — 15 Days

For nationalities not eligible for visa-free entry (including India, China, and Saudi Arabia), a Visa on Arrival is available at major airports and land borders. The fee is ฿2,000 and you'll need your passport, a photo, a return ticket, and proof of funds (฿10,000 in cash).

Thailand Elite Visa — 5 to 20 Years

A paid membership programme starting at ฿600,000 (approximately $17,000) for 5 years. It includes VIP airport services, lounge access, and hassle-free long-term residency without income or age requirements.

Border Runs — Still Possible?

Yes, but with limits. You can make 2 land border entries per calendar year for visa-free stays. Air entries remain unlimited.
